Teknion unveils redesigned Bangalore showroom

Wednesday, February 24, 2016

Teknion Corporation, an international sustainable furniture design company, recently announced the official opening of its redesigned 3,450 square foot showroom in Bangalore, India.

“Our new Bangalore showroom provides the perfect platform to showcase our design and manufacturing capabilities, while demonstrating our understanding of evolving workplace concepts,” said Terry McAllister, Teknion’s president of international markets, in a press release. “It is also an ideal venue for us to extend our legacy as a knowledge leader internationally, while continuing to build dialogue with local designers, architects, facilities managers and customers.”

The ground floor of the new showroom explores the entire Teknion and Teknion Studio portfolios in common workplace settings, such as a conference room with the latest technology or a manager’s private office.

The showroom also features an “in-between” space that acts as a setting for short-term interaction or a more traditional waiting area. A chair wall features products by Segis, an Italian seating design company and Teknion’s strategic partner.

The showroom’s mezzanine features a piazza concept in the centre of the space with workstations. A community centre gives access to all employees to post messages and collect mail, as well as make use of personal lockers and the office service area.

The showroom was redesigned by Ernest P. Greer, principal of Hong Kong-based g+, in conjunction with Teknion. Greer also designed Teknion’s international design centre in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

“We redesigned the Bangalore space to create customer experiences that communicate Teknion’s international design expertise, regional business competencies and achievements in India so that, together, we can best serve our customers’ workplace challenges today, and in the future,” added McAllister.
