Thursday, June 7, 2018

Studio TK recently opened its first-ever standalone showroom at The Merchandise Mart in Chicago. Designed by Tolleson, showroom #1041 is located on the 10th floor of building, and was opened in time for NeoCon 2018, which runs from June 11 to 13 at The Mart.

“These are exciting times for Studio TK,” said Charlie Bell, president of Studio TK, in a press release. “In addition to our showroom opening in Chicago, we recently announced a new partnership with Artifort that enables us to distribute select furnishings in North America by the renowned Dutch firm. We will be exhibiting Artifort furnishings in our showroom. We will also be launching Borough and Cesto – our latest two Studio TK collections – at Neocon.”

The showroom entrance was designed to provide a gallery experience. Divided into two rooms, the showroom acts as a vestibule where new products are introduced in a formal, gallery-like setting. The first new product being shown is from the Cesto collection of seating and table elements, designed by Khodi Feiz. To the right, showroom visitors can find another new product for NeoCon, the Borough modular seating collection from Christophe Pillet.

A small entranceway connects to a second, more dynamic room, which features artwork and installations that bring to mind the power of social engagement and interaction. This centre space features items from Studio TK’s brand. Throughout the space, visitors can find more residential finishes and colours. The room transitions from a blank gallery to a warm, vibrant space. Here, Cesto poufs create a collaborative, creative environment that can be applied in break rooms or brainstorming areas. An alcove to the right highlights the partnership with Artifort and displays four products celebrating the new partnership, including the Beso seating collection, Pala lounge, Kalm lounge and Nina seating.

The rear of the exhibition space features a small café space with a full product map that showcases the depth of the Studio TK line. A hospitality lounge welcomes groups to meet in a relaxed environment.
