The Government of Newfoundland is investing in three multi-year development projects for the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre in Grand-Falls Windsor. The projects, valued at $18 million, will help to modernize the health care facility and enhance patient care.
“The Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre provides services to Grand Falls-Windsor and many surrounding communities,” says Minister of Health and Community Services Susan Sullivan. “This investment of $18 million for multiple projects will improve services in areas like endoscopy, dialysis and the laboratories, as well as extend the lifespan of the hospital.”
Over three years, the $18 million investment will be split among three projects, including:
- $11.8 million for a new endoscopy suite and relocation of a surgical unit.
- $5.7 million for the relocation and expansion of the dialysis unit, increasing the number of dialysis stations from 11 to 15.
- $500,000 for the redevelopment of the healthcare centre laboratories.
Since 2004, Grand Falls-Windsor health facilities have received investments of approximately $86 million for redevelopment projects, repairs, renovations and new equipment.
