ASHRAE and AFE to promote shared interests

ASHRAE and the Association of Facilities Engineering (AFE) have signed a memorandum of understanding that summarizes ways in which the two organizations can work together to promote their shared interests.

ASHRAE, a global society that focuses on advancing human well-being through sustainable technology for the built environment, is teaming up with AFE, a professional organization that promotes the optimal operation of plants, grounds and offices, on such matters as advocacy, chapter collaboration, conferences and meetings, education and technical activities.

“AFE is focused on the optimal operation of plants, grounds and offices at a variety of built environment locations, such as medical centers and Fortune 500 companies, so working with them is a natural fit for ASHRAE,” said David Underwood, ASHRAE president, in a press release.

“With buildings and facilities systems worldwide becoming more complex, ASHRAE’s many publications, but especially their code-intended-documents, are a necessity for our membership as well as the success of daily facility operations worldwide,” said AFE president Roy Nation.
