Acklands-Grainger Inc., the largest distributor of industrial, safety and fastener products in Canada, held the grand opening of its new Toronto distribution centre on June 11. The 535,000-square-foot facility, located in Caledon, Ont., will serve customers across Canada, with next-day delivery offered to customers in Ontario, Quebec and Atlantic Canada.

The state-of-the-art facility was built to LEED standards and was designed for sustainable energy use. Grainger was the first industrial distributor to build its facilities to LEED standards, and now Acklands-Grainger operates 18 LEED-certified facilities across Canada, the United States and Mexico.

“Acklands-Grainger is committed to getting our customers what they need, where and when they need it, and we are continually evaluating the best way to do that,” said Acklands-Grainger president Dean Johnson in a press release. “Key aspects of our new Toronto distribution centre were designed with customers in mind, and will enhance our ability to serve them.”
