Quartier DIX30TM, Canada’s second largest shopping centre, is now owned and managed by partners Oxford Properties Group (Oxford), the real estate arm of OMERS, and Carbonleo, manager and developer of Quebec commercial real estate assets. The new partnership means that Oxford acquires a 50 per cent interest in the 2.3 million square foot establishment, located in Brossard, a municipality in the Montérégie region of Quebec.

Quartier DIX30TM is comprised of 310 stores, 53 restaurants, two live theatres, a cinema, a hotel and 330, 000 square feet of office space. Anchored by Walmart, Canadian Tire, Cineplex and Rona, the centre is situated on a 210 acre site, offering the new owners plenty of opportunities to expand and further develop. A light rail transit system, planned for the location directly alongside the centre, is scheduled to open in 2021.

Carbonleo has been the manager of Quartier DIX30TM since its development, which the company was also responsible for. Oxford brings extensive retail experience to the partnership, having managed nearly 20 million square feet of retail space with national and global retailers.

With the transaction, Oxford and Carbonleo also acquire two adjacent future developments totalling 295,000 square feet, slated for completion in 2015 and 2016.
