Perimeter Development has acquired an office tower in downtown Kitchener.

The 12-storey office tower is minutes from a planned future light rail transit hub. Plans for the building include an updated modern exterior, and interior design aimed at attracting new business people. Built in 1968, the building spans 67,000 square feet, and will include a restaurant and café on the main level.

“We’re excited to breathe new life into the building and create a new style of office space for the market,” says Craig Beattie, founding partner of Perimeter.

The $6.5 million acquisition was announced on Nov. 24, shortly after Perimeter was awarded the 2013 City of Kitchener Mike Wagner Heritage Award for its work on the city’s urban office sector, Breithaupt Block.
