Stantec has announced its acquisition of Halifax-based JDA MacKenzie Architects.
JDA MacKenzie has been providing full architectural services to clients since it was founded in 1982. The firm has worked with clients in the healthcare, public safety, commercial and industrial sectors.
JDA MacKenzie’s previous projects include:
- the Sanofi Pasteur Vaccination Challenge Unit in Halifax
- the K-12 school for Wagmatcook First Nation in Nova Scotia
- the $18.6 million upper year student residence at St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, N.S.
- the 750-seat St. Benedict Roman Catholic Church in Halifax

Stantec employs approximately 1,000 staff members across their 14 Atlantic Canada offices, with more than 350 staff split between three offices in Nova Scotia. Its previous acquisitions in the region include PHB Architects and QuadraTec Engineers in Newfoundland and Labrador, and Architecture 2000 in New Brunswick.
