Sunday, September 8, 2013

Vancouver’s Robson Court has received LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) gold certification for Existing Buildings: Operations and Maintenance (EB:O&M). Located at 840 Howe St., the 11-storey office building is managed by GWL Realty Advisors Inc.

The certification comes following the implementation of Robson Court’s long-term sustainability strategy. Some of the measurable results include:

  • A reduction of greenhouse gas emissions by 27 per cent between 2008 and 2012;
  • Increased energy and water efficiency; and
  • The diversion of 52 per cent the building’s waste away from landfills each year.

In addition to achieving LEED gold certification, Robson Court was recently awarded the highest level of building certification – BOMA BESt level 4 – from the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) of British Columbia, as well as Outstanding Building of the Year (TOBY Award) for 2013, in the 100,000 to 249,999-square-foot category.
