Mattamy Homes, Canada’s largest new home builder, has recently purchased the RiverTown community in St. Johns County, Florida. The $43.6 million deal includes 4,057 acres of land.

Approximately 150 families currently call the community home. And following the completion of the development, another 10,000 people will join them. The community is approved for up to 4,950 homes, including multi-family and single-family residences.

“We are so excited about our acquisition of the RiverTown community, which is the largest real estate purchase that Mattamy has ever done in the United States,” says Steve Parker, president of Mattamy’s U.S. Group. “Our company has a long history of developing large master-planned communities, and we’re looking forward to bringing that successful model to life in RiverTown.”

Some of RiverTown’s current amenities include 58 acres of natural space, a fitness centre, tennis courts, junior-sized Olympic lap pool, community dock with fishing pier, and jogging trails with waterfront views.

The project, which could be in development for up to 15 years, is scheduled to enter construction this autumn. Sales will also commence at that time.
