The Cress Housing Corporation, in partnership with the governments of Canada and Saskatchewan, has invested in three affordable housing apartments in Saskatoon.

The corporation, as part of the Saskatoon Tribunal Council, provides affordable housing options specifically for the First Nations community.

The $1.5-million worth of renovations has put 51 improved units back on the rental market.

The federal and provincial governments, through the Canada-Saskatchewan Investment in Affordable Housing initiative, contributed $1.2 million for the projects. Cress Housing provided the remaining balance.

“Our goal is to help individuals and families in most housing need, and I am pleased that the rejuvenation of these rental properties supports that,” says Minister of Social Services June Draude, who is also the Minister responsible for the Saskatchewan Housing Corporation. “We know that maintaining our existing stock of rental properties is necessary in order to meet the growing housing needs of this province.”
