Bernard Siedlecki, senior associate, indoor air quality and microbial contamination, Pinchin Environmental Ltd. discusses ASHRAE 188, a proposed standard to prevent legionellosis associated with building water systems, including the core requirement of the pending standard – the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) approach to the management of cooling towers, plumbing systems and other building water systems.

Terry Runka, technical sales manager, Chem-Aqua Canada talks about Legionnaires’ disease and how facility managers can prevent Legionella bacteria growth in building water systems. He also discusses ASHRAE 188, including the requirements of the draft standard and the benefits facility managers will reap if they voluntarily comply.
