Oakville Town Council has approved the official plan and zoning amendments for a 27-acre mixed-use community on a former General Electric manufacturing site.

Developed by the Rose Corporation with federal and municipal support, the new rental property is now underway at 26 Gilder Drive in Scarborough's Eglinton East neighbourhood.

The Rose Corporation has officially opened The Bakerfield II, marking the end of the fourth phase of its 834-unit master-planned residential community. 

The federal government announced it is financing $79 million to help construct 216 residential units located at 195 Deerfield Road in Newmarket.
