Greg Fry has joined the Northern Regional Construction Association (NRCA) as chief executive officer after nearly 20 years in broadcasting.
Most recently, he spent eight years as news director at CKPG News in Prince George, where he managed one of the largest newsrooms in Northern BC.
Fry grew up in South Surrey and attended Simon Fraser University, earning a bachelor’s degree with a double major in political science and history. He later completed a broadcasting diploma at the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) and began his career at Vancouver radio station CKNW.
After two and a half years at CKNW, he headed to South Korea to teach English as a second language. What he expected to be a one-year stay turned into more than five years. While living there, he got married and welcomed his first child before returning to Canada at the end of 2008.
Fry returned to journalism in 2010 and has since lived and worked in Williams Lake, Kamloops, and Prince George. His time in these communities has given him a strong connection to Northern BC and the people who call the region home.
As CEO of the NRCA, Fry looks forward to getting to know the association’s members and working with the construction industry on the issues and opportunities facing Northern B.C. He is excited to take on this new role and build on the relationships he has developed throughout his career in the region.
Fry succeeds Nicole Bryant, who served four years as CEO.
