Friday, March 27, 2020

Small tenants in 12 of North American Development Group’s community shopping centres may be eligible to defer rent obligations for up to two months. The commercial real estate company, which manages more than $5 billion worth of assets through its subsidiary Centrecorp Management Services, will invoke the CRU relief plan beginning April 1.

“Small business owners are among the most severely impacted by COVID-19,” a newly released company statement acknowledges. “Qualifying small businesses who can demonstrate their need for financial assistance will be permitted to defer all or a part of their rental payments for up to two months, at which point, it is hoped this medical and economic pandemic is under control.”
