Scarborough Town Centre (STC), the largest enclosed shopping centre east of Toronto, recently attained the $700 in sales per-square-foot mark, positioning the mall as a top retail performer in the Greater Toronto Area.

STC underwent a $62-million renovation in 2010, adding premium retailers, such as lululemon, Forever 21, Aritzia and Victoria’s Secret.

Since then, the mall has continued to attract top-performing stores, like Michael Kors, Calvin Klein and Marciano, all added within the last two years. Store plans for 2015 include the addition of Gerry Weber, Thomas Sabo and Geox.

Robert Horst, general manager of STC, said becoming a competitive force and urban destination in the GTA was a mission geared to reflect the vision of Oxford Properties Group.

“We have even expanded our reach beyond the Scarborough borders,” he added, “attracting more than 32 per cent of our customers from outside our primary trade area.”

Besides developing ties with local community organizations, STC launched various strategies to reach its milestone, such as integrated marketing, social media, advertising and public relations campaigns, as well as new digital technologies, like 16 digital directories and five giant video walls.
