Housing Excellence award finalists announced

Thursday, March 17, 2016

The Canadian Home Builders’ Association (CHBA) has announced the finalists for the first annual National Awards for Housing Excellence, sponsored by Delta Faucet and Genworth Canada.

“These prestigious awards are all about excellence and the very best in new homes, home renovations, community development and marketing across Canada – their name says it all,” said CHBA chief executive officer Kevin Lee in a press release.

The CHBA National Awards for Housing Excellence will replace the Association’s National SAM Awards, a tradition that was established 37 years ago.

Out of a record nearly 700 entries, judges narrowed the field down to 154 finalists. 33 awards will be presented in total (14 New Home awards, 6 Home Renovation awards, 10 Marketing awards and 1 Community Development award, plus national awards for builders in Marketing Excellence and Design Excellence) at the Association’s 73rd National Conference, which will be held on May 6, 2016 in Kelowna, B.C.

Finalists were selected by a national panel of judges that made decisions over two days in Ottawa. “Our judges had a really challenging time with so many exciting and innovative projects to review, but one of our judges summed it up best when he said that looking at the quality of all these entries makes you really proud of the membership in the Association,” said Lee. “I know that the announcement of winners in May will be highly anticipated.”
