EllisDon officially welcomes Kieran Hawe as its new chief executive officer (CEO). Hawe will be succeeding Geoff Smith, who announced his intention to step down as president and CEO in April 2023.

Kieran Hawe has been an integral part of the EllisDon team for the past 23 years, having held several key positions within the organization. Most recently, he served as chief operating officer (COO) and executive vice president of construction from April 2019 to May 2023. His extensive experience and exceptional leadership qualities make him the ideal candidate to lead EllisDon into its next phase of growth and success.

“I am both honoured and excited to accept the role as EllisDon’s next CEO and lead our exceptional employees and incredible leadership team,” said Hawe. “I am committed to continue EllisDon’s position as an industry leader in delivering the future of construction through our expansive array of service offerings and Cradle to Grave approach.”

Hawe’s career journey with EllisDon began in 1999 when he joined as an M&E coordinator. Over the years, his outstanding contributions and entrepreneurial spirit have played a pivotal role in shaping EllisDon into one of Canada’s largest construction and building services companies. During his time with EllisDon, Hawen has overseen numerous high-profile projects, has a history of successfully managing large multidisciplinary teams and helped directly cultivate the company’s $5 billion construction operation.

Before his tenure at EllisDon, he acquired valuable global building experience in Asia, Europe, and the United States. His diverse background has enriched his strategic vision and provided him with a unique perspective on the construction industry.

Known for his peer-focused leadership style, Hawe inspires and motivates his employees at all levels of the organization. He strongly champions inclusive diversity and creates environments where all employees can thrive and reach their full potential.
