According to a Nov. 23 news release, members of the Crime unit from the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid charges in a Collingwood-area fraud investigation.

The OPP news release states that the investigation was prompted by fraud complaints relating to an employee of a Collingwood-based property management business. When the OPP Crime Unit investigated, it uncovered alleged fraudulent financial activity involving various condominium corporations in Collingwood, The Blue Mountains and Barrie area. The news release states that detectives have now laid charges in the case.

Rhonda McCarthy, 41, of Springwater Township, faces charges of fraud over $5,000, theft over $5,000 and uttering forged document.

She is due to appear in Collingwood court on Dec. 29.
