Tuesday, August 3, 2021

Anna Murray has been appointed to the newly created role of global head of ESG with SLC Management. She will also continue to lead the sustainable investment team with SLC’s real estate arm, BentallGreenOak, but has now been promoted to managing director and tasked with ensuring resilience, risk mitigation and environmental and social performance are entrenched across SLC Management’s broader investment activities.

As the institutional asset management business for its parent company, Sun Life Financial, the firm reported CAD $304 billion in assets under management as of March 2021. Murray will report directly to SLC president Steve Peacher, who underscores her credentials as a leading force in risk management and value creation through ESG initiatives.

Murray currently serves as co-chair of the United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) Investment Committee Property Working Group. She has been named to Canada’s Top 40 Under 40, Top 100 Women in Canada and Canada’s Clean50.

“Anna will deliver another compelling value proposition for our investors who are increasingly turning to their fiduciaries to lead the way on sustainable investing. She will also draw on her existing familiarity with our business to build bridges across our organization and work as part of a collective of ESG-committed leaders,” Peacher says.
