The City of Vancouver is calling for entries for its inaugural Urban Design Awards, which aim to celebrate design excellence in the city. The 10 awards will be presented at a ceremony held every other year.
Submissions are now being accepted for designs that reflect the highest standards in architecture and urban design and contribute to Vancouver’s vibrancy and livability.
The categories include:
- Residential buildings (small, medium or large scale)
- Commercial buildings
- Government and institutional buildings
- Urban elements
- Innovation
- Outstanding sustainable design
- Landscape, public space and infrastructure
- Special jury award
To be eligible, projects must have received an occupancy permit after Jan. 1, 2012, and be located within the municipal boundaries of the City of Vancouver.
The deadline for applications is at 4 p.m. on July 14, 2014. The awards will be presented on September 15.
