The New Brunswick government has established a pandemic task force to help combat COVID-19, to oversee the pandemic response for all aspects of the health-care system, including regional health authorities, Extra-Mural and Ambulance New Brunswick, primary care, and the long-term care system.

The task force is led by Dr. Jennifer Russell, chief medical officer of health; Gérald Richard, deputy minister of health; Dr. Gordon Dow, infectious disease specialist; and Dr. Nicole LeBlanc, chief of staff at Vitalité Health Network. A clinical group of experts will also be called upon as appropriate.

In addition, the province has received a donation from the Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation’s COVID-19 emergency fund to upgrade testing and purchase equipment.
