Vancouver-based InHaus Development Ltd. is set to begin construction of a new 20-unit condominium near Seattle, Washington.

The seven-storey building, called Solo Lofts, is located in Seattle’s Ballard community. The project will feature 16 one and two-bedroom units and four penthouses, ranging from 500–1200 square feet.

InHaus is aiming for a BuiltGreen four-star rating. It plans to use sustainable construction materials, and incorporate solar panels and efficient lighting.

Other features for green features include:

• Formaldehyde-free cabinetry
• Low-VOC finishes
• Contemporary dual-flush toilets to minimize water waste
• Intelligent thermostats, designed to reduce energy and save money
• Heat recovery ventilation systems

InHaus specializes in sustainable development and smart densification, operating under the mission statement “Live smart, not large.”

The project, a collaboration with real estate brokerage Redfin, and is scheduled to be completed in late 2014.
