The CEO of the Industry Training Authority (ITA) in B.C., Kevin Evans, is being replaced.

“(The) ITA needs to evolve to meet the challenges and opportunities with the B.C. Jobs Plan and the Skills and Training Plan. To move the organization forward and to address the training and apprenticeship opportunities in B.C., a different leadership skill set is required. Therefore, Kevin Evans is no longer employed by the Industry Training Authority,” says the ITA’s interim CEO, Gary Herman. “We are thankful for the many contributions Kevin made during his six-year tenure at ITA and his role in positioning the organization to take the next steps forward.”

Evans was appointed CEO in October 2007, after joining the organization as COO in April. He was responsible for the governance, expansion and improvement of B.C.’s industry training system.

The recruitment process for a new CEO is expected to begin in the coming months, following the completion of a government mandate review in late fall/winter.
