The Association of Registered Interior Designers of Ontario (ARIDO) has announced the winners of its annual awards program. This year’s winners include a Project of the Year, three Awards of Excellence and 27 Awards of Merit.

Sharon Martens of Calgary-based MartensGroup licensed interior design studio ltd. was honoured with the the Project of the Year as well as an Award of Excellence for the law offices of Gowlings LLP. With this project, Martens created a timeless and elegant space that is supportive of a contemporary workforce and attractive to a new clientele. This is the second year in a row that the firm has won Project of the Year.

The two other Awards of Excellence were given to large [medium] design office inc. for Home Theatre, and Perkins + Will for Cornell Community Centre and Library.

Presented during a gala dinner Sept. 16 at the Westin Harbour Castle Hotel in Toronto, the ARIDO Awards recognize excellence, innovation and creativity in interior design.
