Architizer A+Awards winners announced

Architizer A+Awards winners were announced at a gala on May 12th at Highline Stages in New York City. More than 400 luminaries were in attendance.

The Architizer A+Awards celebrate the world’s best architecture every year.

This year’s winners include Bohlin Cywinski Jackson’s Apple store in Palo Alto; Rafael de Cárdenas LTD.’s Black Ocean Firehouse in New York; Phaedrus Studio’s Odin Bar + Café in Toronto, Sage and Coombe Architects’ Ocean Breeze Track and Field House in Staten Island, and Zaha Hadid Architects’ Messner Mountain Museum Corones in Italy.

Several prominent Vancouver projects were recognized with 2016 Architizer A+ Awards, which honours the best architecture, spaces, and products from across the globe.

The fourth annual A+Awards received thousands of entries from more than 95 countries. A Jury-selected winner and a popular choice winner were awarded in each of the 113 categories. Popular choice winners were determined by the more than 400,000 public votes cast from more than 100 countries and territories.

“The A+gala is more than just a party. It represents a moment for us to stand up and champion our art, recognizing the transformational role that architecture plays in our lives, says Architizer CEO Marc Kushner.
