The Association of Consulting Engineering Companies British Columbia (ACEC-BC) appointed a new board of directors at its annual general meeting June 4, held at the Coast Plaza Hotel in Vancouver.
The chair of the 2013/14 board is Cameron Gatey, principal at Urban Systems Ltd. in Kamloops, B.C. Gatey’s technical expertise is focused on stormwater management and water resources. He has worked in the consulting engineering industry since 1987, when he began his career in Southern Ontario. Gatey has been with Urban Systems for the past 21 years, and has served the organization in a variety of roles, including board chair and CEO/president.
Other members of the executive committee include vice-chair and treasurer Catherine Fritter (business unit leader at Moffatt & Nichol in Vancouver) and designated director Ken Wiecke (manager of power and process at AMEC Americas Ltd.). The immediate past-chair is Steve Fleck, vice-president and practice leader of major projects at Stantec Consulting Ltd. in Vancouver.
