Avison Young has promoted two executives: Mark Fieder will become chief operating officer of Canadian operations, while Keith Lipton will serve as chief operating officer of U.S. operations.

Lipton and Fieder will lead ongoing business operations in their respective countries and be responsible for growing the firm through recruitment and acquisitions. Meanwhile, they will play a main role in managing the company’s full-service platform and will help drive corporate growth strategies.

“By expanding Mark and Keith’s responsibilities, we will ensure that our clients, employees and other stakeholders receive the full benefits of their leadership, mentorship, operational and advisory expertise, market knowledge, innovative strategies and business savvy,” said Mark Rose, chair and chief executive officer of Avision Young. “Their promotions will also enable other principals to dedicate more time and attention to future growth in Europe and, eventually, Asia, Latin America and other regions.”

A founding member of Avison Young, Fieder most recently served as managing director, Eastern Canada, responsible for Ontario, Quebec and Atlantic Canada operations. Under his leadership, these operations quadrupled in size.

Lipton has served as principal and managing director of the firm’s Washington metro area. He joined Avison Young in 2009 to open the company’s second U.S. office in the state. He has previously worked with Jones Lang LaSalle, CBRE and Grubb & Ellis.
