Resort-style condos planned for Muskoka

Tuesday, August 12, 2014

Touchstone on Lake Muskoka, a three-part Sequel Hospitality Investments project including the Boathouse Villas and Lofts, Beach House Villas and the Tree Top Penthouse Villas, has entered the second and third phases of development. The project offers buyers the opportunity to own resort-style condos in the Muskoka cottage market.

“Access to the esteemed Lake Muskoka address is becoming limited by price and availability,” says Robert McLaughlin, President and COO of Sequel Hospitality Investments. “Being a Muskoka-based development company, we envisioned an offering that meets the needs of a changing market — one that is seeking the boutique, privacy-driven tradition of lakefront Muskoka cottage life, but with a modern-day twist in the ways of price, services and lifestyle amenities.”

Resort condos ranging from 400-square-foot studio suites to 2,200-square-foot four-bedroom villas will be available for purchase starting in fall 2014. Depending on sales performance, Sequel hopes to enter construction in spring of 2015 with an estimated completion date of fall 2016. Units will start at $229,000 and a rental program will be available for resort guests.

The property includes 23 acres of land along Lake Muskoka, between Bracebridge and Port Carling. Amenities will include a pool, hot tub, restaurant, spa with six indoor and outdoor treatment rooms and a fitness centre. Units will feature stainless steel appliances, fireplaces, soaker tubs, glass shower stalls and private decks.

Toronto-based architect Ava Janikowski and Moncur Design Associates Inc. will work with Sequel to bring the project to fruition.
