The Energy Services Association of Canada’s president, Peter Love, has been named to Canada’s 2014 Clean50 in the category of Traditional Energy Generation & Retailers.
“Being named to Canada’s 2014 Clean50 is a great honour,” says Love, who is also an adjunct professor at York University’s faculty of environmental studies. “All of the people with whom I have worked with over the years, and who have been dedicated to driving innovation in promoting a culture of conservation, share with me the satisfaction of seeing the change in awareness and understanding of the need to find ways to reduce our consumption of energy.”
Love was previously Ontario’s chief energy conservation officer, where he was involved in convincing the government to increase the minimum energy efficiency standards in the Ontario Building Code. The newest version of the code came into effect in 2012, and is among the most rigorous in North America.
Canada’s Clean50 is an awards program held annually by Delta Management Group. It celebrates outstanding sustainability achievements across 16 categories, recognizing 50 individuals or small teams that have done the most to advance the cause of sustainability and clean capitalism in Canada over the past two years.
