Catherine Karakatsanis has been appointed to the role of chief operating officer at Morrison Hershfield Group Inc.

Karakatsanis is responsible for company operations in Canada and internationally. She will provide overall guidance, ensure the alignment of operations with the corporate vision and engage team members in a manner that leverages their collective strengths.

Karakatsanis joined Morrison Hershfield in 1989, and has been a member of the board of directors for seven years. She is also the current president of Engineers Canada and a board member of Engineers Without Borders.

Karakatsanis’ dedication to management and commitment to the overall enrichment of the engineering profession have earned the respect of her colleagues and her peers. Most recently, she was awarded the Ontario Professional Engineers’ Medal for Management. The award recognizes professional engineers who have contributed significantly to achieving excellence in engineering, primarily through their management skills.
