The recipients of the Annual Carter Wosk BC Creative Achievement Awards for Art and Design and the BC Creative Achievement Award of Distinction were announced by the British Columbia Achievement Foundation.

Furniture designer Judson Beaumont was named the recipient of the BC Creative Achievement Award of Distinction. This award celebrates Judson’s innovation and creativity over his career of nearly 30 years. (Judson Beaumont’s pet camper is pictured above.)

The recipients of the juried awards, the 2014 Carter Wosk Creative Achievement Awards for Applied Art and Design, were Jim Barnum, Tania Gleave and Marie Khouri.

“The Creative Achievement Awards continue to honour B.C. artists whose work is judged to be innovative and original while having a practical function,” says British Columbia Achievement Foundation chair Keith Mitchell. “This year’s recipients represent a broad spectrum of applied design that contributes to the economic and cultural diversity of our province.”
