Kathy Kinloch is the new president of the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT). She is the first female president in the institute’s 50-year history.
A former president of Vancouver Community College (VCC) and dean of BCIT’s health sciences department, Kinloch officially started her new position at BCIT on Jan. 6.
In addition to her senior leadership roles at both BCIT and VCC, Kinloch also had senior roles in the B.C. government, where she served as senior advisor for the Ministry of Health Services.
She also served as chief operating officer of Fraser Health, and vice-president of Surrey Memorial Hospital.
Kinloch has a degree in nursing, a master’s degree in leadership, and a graduate certificate in executive coaching from Royal Roads University.
