B.C. launches guide for sourcing skilled workers

Friday, December 13, 2013

The British Columbia Construction Association has launched The Hire Guide, an interactive resource to help construction employers source skilled workers in an increasingly competitive market. B.C.’s construction sector is anticipating a shortfall of at least 30,500 skilled workers by 2021.

The Hire Guide was made possible by the Immigrant Employment Council of B.C. through the Employer Innovation Fund, and funding provided by the Government of Canada and the Province of B.C. The guide describes the emerging labour market, underscores why new Canadians should be a key part of any human resources strategy, and shows employers how to tap into the skills and experience immigrants bring to B.C.
