Bill Stewart, vice-president of the Merit Contractors Association in Edmonton, died on Nov. 11, 2013. He was 56.

Stewart was a dedicated leader who was known for his kindness, willingness to lend a hand and ability to bring people together. According to Merit, Stewart built many relationships with the open shop construction sector across Canada and the United States, and will be remembered for his passion, knowledge, dedication and integrity.

He is survived by his wife Vera and daughters, Leah (Jeff) Yanew, Sheena (Grant) Sanderson and Kristen (Josh) Durward.
