The 2013 IDIBC Awards of Excellence winners were announced during an award ceremony Sept. 20, in downtown Vancouver. This year, 50 submissions were received in nine categories. Nine projects were honoured with Awards of Excellence, while 18 others received Awards of Merit.
The Esker Foundation Gallery by Kasian Architecture Interior Design & Planning won the Robert Ledingham Award. Formerly Best in Show, the award was renamed in memory of Ledingham, a renowned Vancouver interior designer who passed away earlier this year.
The 2013 Awards of Excellence winners are:
- Public and Institutional Spaces Category: Esker Foundation Gallery, Kasian Architecture Interior Design & Planning
- Residential Category: Los Angeles Private Residence, Mitchell Freedland Design
- Healthcare and Personal Service Facilities Category: True Dental, Sinclair Dental Co. Ltd.
- Food and Beverage Category: Yellow Door, Ingenium Design Group Inc.; The Fish Shack, Box Interior Design Inc.; Project Bosk Restaurant, mcfarlane green biggar architecture + design
- Workplace Total Category: Bosa Properties, Square One Interiors Inc.; Blackburn Young Office Solutions, SSDG Interiors Inc.; Hootsuite Media Inc., SSDG Interiors Inc.
