Contractors in the City of Vancouver could soon see a streamlined business licensing process.
Vancouver, along with five other municipalities (Surrey, Richmond, Burnaby, New Westminster and Delta) is aiming to implement a new inter-municipal business licence pilot project. The goal is to start the pilot in late fall.
The program would enable small businesses to buy a single licence that allows them to work across municipal boundaries. This would reduce administration, licensing costs and red tape.
Late last year, nine municipalities in B.C.’s Fraser Valley started a year-long pilot project offering mobile business licences.
