Great Gulf’s Yonge & Rich is a new 50-storey development in downtown Toronto, touting all the luxury of modern living combined with relaxing and peaceful elements of nature. According to developers, the new building will use distinctive style and design elements to connect its suites to outdoor space and light. Located just one block east of Yonge Street, suites will be for sale this spring.
“There are few neighbourhoods like Yonge and Richmond anywhere in Canada,” says Alan Vihant, senior vice-president for highrise at Great Gulf. “Situated within the dynamic energy and excitement of Toronto’s downtown core, it has the buzz of the financial district, the fun of Dundas Square and the Eaton Centre, while being close to Ryerson and the University of Toronto. It really offers residents all the conveniences they could ask for right at their doorstep, while still providing the charm of quaint streets, hidden laneways and plenty of parks.”
With a walk score of 98 and a transit score of 100, Yonge & Rich is located on the underground PATH system and has the Yonge subway line and major highways conveniently located right outside its door, making it an ideal location for anyone who wants to live in the heart of downtown Toronto.
“Each suite has been carefully placed to ensure as much window exposure as possible, so as to create a glorious shower of natural light,” says Yonge & Rich architect, Peter Clewes, a partner with the award-winning firm architectsAlliance.
Inside the suites, Toronto-based design firm Burdifilek takes the same approach, creating modern rooms that use wide open spaces and light to connect inside with outside in a comfortable flow.
“We designed Yonge & Rich with a practical functionality in mind,” says Diego Burdi, creative director, Burdifilek. “We want residents to get the most out of every square foot of their space so, for example, we designed most outdoor balconies as an additional room, many of which are up to eight-feet wide. That’s plenty of real living space – more than enough room for outdoor furniture, outdoor cooking and outdoor lounging.”
All suites include floor-to-ceiling windows, pre-finished engineered flooring throughout, Burdifilek-designed kitchens and bathrooms, and will range from 500 to 926 square feet. Prices start at $289,990.
