2015 Advocates of Architecture Awards

The Metro Vancouver Chapter of the RAIC has announced the 2015 Award recipients of the Advocates of Architecture from its community. The efforts of these individuals and organizations have inspired a dialogue of critical issues relevant to the architectural industry and have contributed to society’s increased awareness and appreciation of the significant role architecture plays in all our lives.

On Thursday October 29, 2015, five remarkable British Columbians and organizations will be recognized and celebrated as they receive the 2015 Advocates of Architecture Award. These annual awards celebrate outstanding citizens who, through their vision and extraordinary efforts in the built environment, have made significant contributions to our society

The recipients are:
 Adele Weder, Architectural Writer and Curator; Andy Yan, MCIP, RPP, GISP, senior urban planner with Bing Thom Architects and a researcher with BTAworks; Scot Hein, Adjunct Professor at the University of British Columbia; 
CityStudio; 
MEC (Mountain Equipment Co-op) and Corin Flood of Green Building Consulting and Design.

The awards evening will include a presentation by distinguished Vancouver architect Walter Francl, Architect AIBC, FRAIC as the keynote speaker.
