Ivanhoe Cambridge has joined forces with Harvard Developments and Forster Projects to develop a 385,000-square-foot retail outlet in Winnipeg. The new shopping destination, tentatively opening in the spring of 2017, will be named Outlet Collection at Winnipeg.

The retail complex is slated for a 40-acre lot situated near Kenaston Boulevard and Sterling Lyon Parkway. The complex is considered the first pure outlet centre in the Greater Winnipeg Area and is expected to house more than 90 retailers.

Ivanhoe Cambridge will oversee the development and leasing of the project, and will take on property management duties once the centre opens to the public.

“It will be a true destination that will enliven the surrounding commercial development through attractive landscaping, intuitive wayfinding, comfortable public spaces and integrated public transit,” says John Scott, senior vice-president of development.

The company’s latest outlet complex, the Outlet Collection at Niagara, is slated to open its doors this month. Another outlet situated in Edmonton is set to open in 2016.
