According to Avison Young’s Mid-Year 2013 report, three of British Columbia’s five largest industrial deals were located in Richmond.
The sale of 18111 Blundell Rd. by Kingswood Capital to real estate investment trust PIRET, at a total cost of $44.1 million, was the largest industrial transaction in the province.
The city’s next largest was Hopewell Development’s sale of the third phase of the Hopewell Distribution Centre at 16111 Blundell Rd. The property also went to PIRET, at a cost of $32.32 million.
Richmond also recorded the fifth largest transaction in the province with the $18.48 million acquisition of 13799 Commerce Parkway by Canadian Urban Ltd. from Bentall Investment Management. The property comprises a 63,792-square foot multi-tenant research and development lab.
