The Appraisal Institute of Canada (AIC) has elected Dan Wilson president for 2013/14.

“(Wilson’s) vast experience on day-to-day issues related to real property appraisals and keen sense of the needs of the membership will continue to advance the profession, keeping AIC’s education and professional practice as a benchmark within the industry,” says the institute’s CEO, Keith Lancastle.

Wilson is owner and principal of Vancouver Island-based appraisal and consulting firm, Jackson & Associates Ltd. He was elected to the national AIC board of directors in 2010, and has been involved with the AIC’s professional practice committee, audit and finance committee, insurance committee and executive committee.

Founded in 1938, the AIC is the premier real property valuation association in Canada. At present, the institute has more than 4,800 members worldwide that provide appraisal, appraisal review and appraisal consulting services for all types of properties.
