The Construction and Design Alliance of Ontario (CDAO) has elected Clive Thurston as chair.

The position was previously held by Joe Accardi, executive director of the Ontario Sewer and Watermain Construction Association (OSWCA).

“I look forward to finding creative solutions to the many challenges being faced by Ontario’s design and construction sector,” says Thurston. “CDAO has a strong relationship with both infrastructure ministry officials and Infrastructure Ontario officials. I will continue to build on that foundation for a stronger future.”

CDAO is composed of 14 different associations and organizations that represent a selection of professions connected with design-build infrastructure projects in Ontario. Its goal is to advocate for investment in Ontario’s infrastructure, and give both municipal and provincial governments a way to seek input and advice from industry stakeholders.

Thurston is also president of the Ontario General Contractors Association.
