BOMI Canada elects new board of trustees

The Building Owners and Managers Institute (BOMI) of Canada has announced its 2012/13 board of trustees.

The focus of this year’s nomination process was to improve the organization’s representation across Canada. As such, BOMI Canada expanded the number of trustees, adding representation from British Columbia, Nova Scotia, and Newfoundland and Labrador.

In adding new trustees, BOMI Canada has been able to add five instructors to the board, which will allow for greater feedback.

The new board of trustees includes:

  • Chair: Laurie Ell, general manager, New West Enterprise Property Group (SASK) Inc. (Regina)
  • Vice-Chair: Sue Ziemski, property manager, CREIT (Winnipeg)
  • Treasurer: Rod Winters, senior manager, real estate, Bell Aliant (Halifax)
  • Secretary: Christine Doyle, senior manager, real estate services, Attain Group Inc. (Ottawa)
  • Past chair: Oryst Deneka, director of commercial property operations, Minto Commercial Inc. (Ottawa)
  • Directors: Georges Corbeil, operations manager, SNC Lavalin O&M (Toronto); Adrian Cowling, ASL Management (Halifax); John Geslton, senior vice-president and chief broking officer, HUB International (Toronto); Anne-Marie Guèvremont, regional manager, FCR Management Services LP (Montreal); Robert Kavanagh, vice-president of asset management and managing broker, GWL Realty Advisors Inc. (Vancouver); Valorie Peddle, Valorie (Regina); and Kim Saunders, property manager, East Port Properties Ltd. (St.John’s, Nfld.)
  • BOMI International chair: Greg Grainger, regional managing director, Dallas Colliers International
