In an effort to hasten the implementation of Community Energy Plans, (CEPs) a tool that defines and activates efficient and economic energy priorities, three communities across Canada have the opportunity to apply leading practices for building and management support.
The Community Energy Planning: Getting to Implementation in Canada initiative is organizing the pilot program, which will offer chosen communities a chance to advance implementation over an 8 to 12 month period.
180 communities, representing 50 percent of the population, currently have a CEP, but many face challenges when it comes to planning and application.
Three communities will receive:
- 600+ hours of GTI expert staff time ($75,000 value/ per community).
- Involvement of senior advisors with more than 50 years of collective experience working on implementation.
- Two briefings from senior advisors.
- Up to five in-person meetings with the GTI project team.
- Monthly teleconference meetings with the GTI project team.
- Participation in GTI events.
- A case study profiling your community published online.
The deadline to submit an “expression of interest “is September 4th, 2015.
