Six new member organizations have been added to the U.S. Green Building Council’s (USGBC) LEED International Roundtable.
The newest crop includes The Energy and Resources Institute in India, the SUMe in Mexico and the Green Building Councils of Costa Rica, Kazakhstan, Trinidad and Tobago and Hungary.
As a whole, the 37 member Roundtable team works towards increasing the global adoption of LEED, while ensuring the standards remain relevant in key locations around the world.
“The earth knows no boundaries and LEED continues to break regional barriers so we can share best practices in buildings in order to expand the transformative influence of green building,” said Scot Horst, chief product officer of the USGBC.
New platforms such as LEED Dynamic Plaque, designed to provide ongoing building performance information, is a current topic of discussion among Roundtable members.
Recently, members helped implement Alternative Compliance Paths (ACPs) in Europe and South America. ACPs increase LEED flexibility and offer additional pathways to show compliance with LEED credits that are often challenging for projects outside the U.S.
