British Columbia Investment Management Corporation (bcIMC) recently announced that Golder Associates Ltd. has finalized a lease agreement to be the anchor tenant for its new LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) gold office building. The building will be located at Broadway Tech Centre, an integrated office and warehouse development in Vancouver.

The new building is scheduled to start construction in late May 2012, with an expected completion date of January 2015. The building will be a 196,000-square-foot four-storey office building, the eighth building at Broadway Tech Centre. The building will include 15,000 square feet of service-oriented retail space as well as a 5,000-square-foot day care facility.

Broadway Tech Centre is located on the corner of East Broadway and Renfrew Streets, adjacent to the Renfrew SkyTrain station. The completion of this building will bring the total square footage to 1.1 million, which includes 930,000 square feet of office space and 150,000 square feet of production and distribution space, as well as amenities like a day care, on-site café, outdoor sports courts for volleyball and basketball, full-service fitness facility, conference room and landscaped outdoor areas.

Broadway Tech Centre was most recently recognized by the Urban Development Institute (UDI) for excellence in Urban/Office Development.
