ASHRAE and the Indoor Air Quality Association (IAQA) have signed a memorandum of understanding to work together to promote better indoor air quality in the built environment.

Signed during ASHRAE’s IAQ 2013 Conference in Vancouver, B.C. in mid-October, the memorandum commits the organizations to working together on consistent leadership communication, chapter collaboration, advocacy, technical activities co-ordination and research.

ASHRAE President William Bahnfleth says the partnership with the IAQA “will enhance the ability of both to achieve their shared goals.”

“This agreement is a great step forward for IAQA and the indoor air quality field. ASHRAE and IAQA have agreed to work closely on issues that are of mutual interest,” says Donald M. Weekes, president of the IAQA.

Founded in 1998, the IAQA focuses on services that ensure good indoor air quality by preventing and solving indoor environmental problems.
