Canadian landscape architect awards unveiled

The Canadian Society of Landscape Architects has announced the national and regional winners of its annual Awards of Excellence.

This year, 15 projects received a national award that honours distinctive design, groundbreaking research and sustainable landscape management.

Calgary’s Landscape of Memory: Poppy Plaza was one of three projects to win a National Honour Award. The project team was Dave Spencer and Marc Boutin, from Stantec Consulting Ltd. and the Marc Boutin Architectural Collaborative Inc.

Two Vancouver projects earned regional distinctions. The Mid Main Park by Joseph Fry of Hapa Collaborative won a Regional Honour Award, while a Regional Merit Award went to the John Lawson Park Playground and Splash Pad by Richard Findlay of Richard Findlay Landscape Architect Inc.
