Construction has begun on the new 35,000-square-metre luxury goods mall at the Vancouver International Airport.

Designed by Stantec Architecture, the new mall is being built in two phases on the northeast corner of Sea Island, near the Templeton Canada Line Station.

The first phase will have 22,500 square metres of retail space, featuring luxury brand stores, restaurants and cafes. Phase two will see another 12,500 square metres added.

The mall is expected to open by spring 2015.
